Making a living out of the Internet can be exciting, but it can also get disappointing & tiring… Many people, including me, struggle to earn a decent revenue from the Internet. Yet many other just dream… Most of the make-money-online experts would freeze upon one single most-important method to start earning sustainable income: Build Your Own Site.
You can build your own site through many ways - Freely hosted sites (Blogger, Wordpress) / Paid hosting sites (Dreamhost, GoDaddy). I am not getting into details of this (as this out of scope). I am assuming that you’ve built up your site. Let’s now talk about the nitty gritties of making your site start earning for you. You can start making money online through any/all of the following ways:
1. Kontera ContentLink
Kontera ContentLink allows you to make some decent bucks from advertising without giving up any current (and expensive) advertising space on your site. It simply reads content on your site and their advanced technology then identifies words or phrases for which they have advertisements in their system. The highlighted words are double underline (so that it is differentiated from other content on your site). When someone moves mouse pointer over this word, an advertisement (often, relevant) pops up! That’s it!!
2. Text Link Ads
Text Link Ads help publishers make money online by selling text links under “Featured Links” section. The links offer advertisers traffic & search engine benefits, and readers usually don’t mind these at all because they are not intrusive (and not annoying as image ads). The link price on your site is set by Text Link Ads and is based on the Alexa ranking of your site, Google PageRank, number of RSS subscribers, and many other factors.
3. Google AdSense
Google AdSense remains the market dominating service! Google’s better-than-the-best technology will crawl through your page, identify the content and accordingly display relevant ads – text, image, or both. You can customize it as per the look-and-feel of your site and there are many ad formats available to choose from. One word of caution: Google AdSense is quite strict with the sites that display their ads. Their sophisticated technology will, on a frequent basis, identify scammers and then permanently block them!!! So don’t even dare to fool AdSense – the fact is, Google rules…
4. Bidvertiser
Bidvertiser is a Cost-per-Click (CPC) ad network. You only need to make atleast $10 for getting payment through Bidvertiser as against $100 with AdSense. It works similar to AdSense, but their ads are not that relevant… But it’s worth going for it, as even $10 are not bad at all…
5. AuctionAds
AuctionAds is one of the big initiatives of eBay. It puts all the publishers in one big collection to go after the revenue share. Publishers can then leverage AuctionAds’ creative delivery of eBay auctions.
